NATURAL INGREDIENTS

Reverse-Osmosis Water, Sodium Bicarbonate, Citric Acid, Glycerin, Polyacrylate Crosspolymer-6, Isopropyl Palmitate, Vitamin D, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Isopropyl Alcohol, Menthol, Magnesium Sulfate, Benzyl Alcohol, Benzoic Acid and Sorbic Acid.

Understanding our ingredients:

Reverse osmosis is a water treatment process using pressure to force water molecules through a semipermeable membrane to remove contaminants. Sodium bicarbonate is a baking soda and antacid medicinal ingredient. Citric acid helps smooth your skin as a part of our pain relief and recovery balms. Glycerin helps retain moisture and is beneficial for our topical muscle creams and sunscreens. Polyacrylate crosspolymer-6 is a powder ingredient for stabilization of water-based emulsions to create a gel texture and a non-sticky finish, which is key for our sports creams in outdoor athletics. Isopropyl palmitate is another hydration enhancer and is derived from animal and plant sources. Vitamin D boosts calcium absorption in the gut and enables normal bone mineralization to prevent cramps and spasms.

Ethylhexyl palmitate helps active ingredients penetrate skin more easily and is an alternative to silicone. Isopropyl Alcohol is a vehicle to drive ingredients deeper into the skin and dissolve ingredients that aren't water-soluble. Derived naturally from peppermint, menthol provides a cooling, refreshing sensation upon contact with your skin and is a key ingredient in our line of mineral sun barriers and endurance/recovery lotions. Magnesium sulfate is absorbed into the skin to serve as an anti-inflammatory protectant. Benzyl alcohol is a preservative with antibacterial and antifungal properties. Sorbic Acid eliminates microorganisms to prevent their multiplication and prevent spoilage.

Each ingredient was handpicked to maximize the effectiveness of our Koru Recovery Lotion to buffer lactic acid build up in muscles. We recommend our product over any menthol cream, muscle rub cream or vitamin D lotion on the market today.

Vitamin D Benefits

As athletes, you’re constantly performing and training at the highest level possible. To perform at your best, you need to be healthy and well-rested. Vitamin D is important for maintaining good health and well-being, which is especially important for athletes.   Vitamin D is a nutrient that your body makes when you are exposed to sunlight.

The body relies on Vitamin D to perform many functions, including helping the body absorb calcium and regulating the immune and nervous systems. Some research has shown that Vitamin D may also improve athletic performance, especially in athletes who are deficient in the vitamin.   Introduction to Vitamin D for Athletes  The primary source of Vitamin D for the body is sunlight. Many athletes find that they are able to train harder and perform better when they supplement their diet with Vitamin D. Some athletes supplement with Vitamin D when they are not training, while others take the vitamin only when they begin a training program.

Vitamin D is important for your body’s recovery. When you supplement with Vitamin D, your body can better absorb the calcium in your bones. This helps to ensure that your bones are well-prepared to repair any damage that might have been done to them during your training. This can help to reduce the amount of soreness that you feel when you train hard.

If you are a professional athlete, you should always speak to your sports nutritionist or trainer before you begin to supplement your diet with Vitamin D. Your sports nutritionist can help you find a high-quality, brand-name Vitamin D lotion that is best suited for your needs. They can also help you determine the best way to supplement your training regimen so that you can get the most value out of your Vitamin D supplementation.   Introduction to Vitamin D Supplements  Vitamin D supplements are another way to supplement your diet with the vitamin. There are two types of Vitamin D supplements: those that you take orally, and those that you apply to your skin.

The effects of Vitamin D supplements can be long lasting, depending on how much Vitamin D supplements you take and how much you weigh. In general, you should take at least 5,000 IU of Vitamin D daily. While most people can benefit from a daily dose of 10,000 IU, this is not necessary and can be dangerous if you are over the recommended daily intake.  Some athletes need more than 10,000 IU to meet their needs, and some athletes (such as runners, swimmers, skiers, snowboarders, and bicyclists) may not need more than 5,000 IU daily.

These needs are different for men and women. Female athletes who are in their childbearing years (ages 15-39) should discuss their needs with a sports nutrition professional and take at least 5,000 IU daily. If the athlete is pregnant, breastfeeding, or nursing, she should speak to her healthcare provider about how much and how often to supplement.  Consider the following when making your decision regarding the frequency of your supplementation: 1) you are taking a daily supplement; 2) you are supplementing to maintain bone health and prevent osteoporosis; or 3) you are supplementing to maintain muscle and strength.

Most people between the ages of 50 and 70 years old, including athletes, fall into this category. A blood test can determine your Vitamin D level, which will indicate if you are at risk for Vitamin D deficiency. To get the most benefit from your Vitamin D intake, you should take a Vitamin D supplement every day that has 400 IU or higher. The recommended dose varies based on age, but most people need about 2,000 IU of Vitamin D daily.

Curious about other ways to increase your Vitamin D levels? You can boost your Vitamin D levels naturally by eating foods that are high in Vitamin D. There are many good foods that are high in vitamin D. These include many fish, such as halibut, salmon, and tuna. Dairy products, such as milk, yogurt, cheese, and butter, are good sources of vitamin D, as are certain types of meat. You can also get vitamin D from supplements. Most multivitamins contain a small amount of vitamin D, but a supplement may provide more. Some vegetables, such as mushrooms and carrots, are also good sources of vitamin D. Some prescription drugs, such as antacids and certain allergy medicines, also contain small amounts of vitamin D. Some foods and dietary supplements are marketed as being rich in vitamin D, but the amount of vitamin D in the food or supplement is not always listed on the label. If your consumption of vitamin D supplements are out of your normal daily intake and are not starting to cause you significant vitamin D deficiency, we recommend you seek out a health professional.
