John's family tree is a legacy of both swimmers and military veterans, and he has honored that legacy by excelling in both fields. As an NCAA swimmer and water polo player at the United States Naval Academy, he honed his skills in the water. He then served as an officer in the Navy, deploying twice to the Middle East and North Africa, before a spinal injury forced him to leave the service.
After recovering, he turned his focus to commercial real estate and M&A, but his passion for sports never wavered. Eventually, he returned to the world of sports and founded Kōru Performance.
Now, as an avid triathlete and the father of two daughters, John continues to strive for excellence in all aspects of his life, alongside his supportive wife Kristina, who is also an active runner and mother of two aspiring triathletes.
