Course Overview
The journey starts outside the stunning scenery of Boulder’s foothills in the shadow of jagged peaks and epic cliffs. As the race passes through lush fields, lawns, and pine and oak forests, athletes can enjoy marathon-length views of the mountains and blue skies.

The Swim
The swim at Boulder Reservoir is a single-loop. Summer temperatures at Boulder Reservoir typically range between 65 and 70 degrees Farenheit.
Note: "Wetsuits are permitted if the water temperature is up to (and including) 76.1 degrees Fahrenheit (24.5 degrees Celsius) or colder. Wetsuits cannot measure more than 5 mm thick."
Bike Route
The one-loop bike course traverses through the rural roads of the Boulder County and has roughly 2,000 feet of elevation gain. There are at least three aid / water stations visible on the map. The route contains rolling hills that can be ridden at a comfortable speed, but can be deceptively tough over the 56 miles.
Run Route
The 13.1-mile, double loop run, is a very fast route on dirt gravel roads. The dual loop format let your support crew see you twice. iPods, MP3 players, phones, video cameras aren't allowed. Aid stations will be around each mile of the run offering, water, Gatorade Endurance, Quantum Energy Squares, Maurten GEL 100, and more!
